Area of a Circle

A circle is a geometric shape which has a radius or diameter, this kind of shape has been shown below. The following formula is the formula which can be used to find the area of any circle.
Area of a circle = πr2

where r is radius and π is 3.14159…

Example

Find the area for the following shape

we know that diameter is 16cm this means radius is 8 cm.
So;
Area = π x 82 = 64π cm2

It is as simple as that to find the area of a circle.
