This chapter explores some of the common area formulae. The formulae listed below are the most common/popular formula and it is therefore important that you learn them;

Rectangle

It is important to note that for the formulae to give the correct outcome the height in the triangle has to be a vertical height not the slopping height. The height also has to be perpendicular to the base of the triangle forming a 90 degree angle.
