Metric to imperial conversion

In this chapter we’re going to quickly summarise converting between metric to imperial units. The following shows the conversation factors between the metrics and imperial units.

Example

Convert 37 inches to cm.
The conversation factor between inches to centimetres is 2.5 so we either divide or multiply with 2.5. In this case we multiply.

37 inches is equal to 92.5 cm.

Example 2

Convert 5.45 litres into pints.
The conversation factor between litres to pints is 1¾. So we either multiply or divide by 1.75 to find the answer. In this case we multiply.

5.45 litres is equal to 9.54 pints.
