Odd and Even numbers
Even numbers are numbers which can be divided evenly by 2. For example the number 8 can be divided into two numbers (4)
Odd numbers are numbers which cannot be divided evenly by two. For example the number 9 cannot be divided by 2.
Here is a good diagram which illustrates how even numbers and odd numbers are composed in the count of 1 upwards;
The odd numbers end in numbers of 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9
The numbers counting from:
1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31 are odd numbers.
The even numbers end in numbers of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10.
The numbers counting from:
2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 are even numbers.
We can continue to count upwards up to 20 and you will still see the same pattern.
