Highest Common factor (HCF)
HCF stands for Highest Common Factor. Highest common factor is the biggest number that can be divided into all the numbers in the given list.
In most cases to find the highest common factor (HCF) we list down all the factors of all the numbers. Then locate the biggest number that appears in all the factors listed.
The following example shows how to find the highest common factor.
Example
Find the highest common factor (HCF) of 36, 54, and 72.
Above we have managed to find that the highest common factor of 36, 54m and 72 is 18.
It’s that simple to find the highest common factor of a list of numbers.
Just spotted a typo above in the (highest)common factors of 72 you have 71 listed instead of 72
